SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE

English movie inspired by a novel written by indian author, the story is fully based on mumbai slum. Its all about how a guy from mumbai slum manages to win the ” who want to be the next millionaire” competition. The best thing is that the hero answer’s all the question easily by recollecting his real life incidents which happened rite from his childhood. The best thing in this movie is the screen play,, in my life i have never seen such a great screen play,, AR Rehman’s back ground score and songs were mind blowing,,, no wonder he got golden globe award and being nominated for 3 oscar awards,, and i am sure he will bring oscar award to India,, days are not too far

Indian actor’s like anil kapoor , imran khan did a decent job,, and gr8 acting by all kids and teen age ppl,, i dont know abt the names of the three kids,, but they acted naturally and gave life to the story.

on the whole its a gr8 movie and in fact its the best movie which i have seen in my life. Dont miss it,, do watch it immediately

If foreign director and technicians can come up with a superb movie based on India, why cant Indian directors do the same????????and the worst part is that its inspired from Indian novel and most of the people who acted in this movie are from India. Its a gr8 shame for all woods like bollywood,kollywood,tollywood etc,,,,

Especially the south indian directors should see this movie and try to learn how to write screen play.. and how to direct a movie,,,hope atleast by seeing this movie,,, some changes happens in the way , how movies are made in south India.

Finally its a must watch movie for director perarasu, other masala movie directors, actor vijay, shimbhu, and all masala movie hero’s. Atleast by seeing it,, they might start thinking something out of the box instead of directing and acting in same type of masala movies and irritate the audience and spoil the name of kollywood.

PADIKATHAVAN

This movie was sudden pongal release,, and its released by sun pictures so naturally the promotion will be very high and expectations will be high and another important fact is that,its considered as competitor for vijay’s so called villu

After 2 hits namely thalainagaram and marudhamalai,, this time director suraj joins hands with dhanush and tried to come up with a story which has both mass and comedy in it. The story has nothing new in it,, as usual 2 big group of villains in andhara fighting against each other and in between the 2 roudy group our hero gets stuffed,, as usual in the climax hero fights with villains and win them:-)

For dhanush its not very difficult for him to act like un educated or ir responsible person,, its like cake walk for him,,so he did his job very well.. he have improved a lot in his acting and few dialogues seems to be overdose for his body size

Heroine Thamana showcased like barbie doll,, she too have improved in acting but have less scope to perform,, naturally in all masala movies heroines come for songs and padikathavan too not an exception

1 st half was usual dhanush movie with lot of comedy and it was good and fast but 2nd half was not up to mark,,and 2 nd was like seeing telegu movie,,,

vivek’s comedy is good after so many years but still he tried to imitate vadivelu,, comedy would have been better if vadivelu acted in this movie instead of vivek ,,

Music director failed to impress in both songs and re recording,,, first time songs are not good in dhanush movies

On the whole its a masala entertainer which can be seen once for the sake of comedy

KADHAL NA SUMMA ILLA

kadhal na summa illa is a super hit telegu remake,,, infact its the less hyped movie for this pongal,, though it didnt carry any kind of pre-release hype,this movie will satisfy all audience. The story something new to the tamil industry. Rich guy falling in love with a middle class gal, due to some reason gal leaves the guy and goes far from him. The hero takes a journey to various places to find his gal. During his journey he learns what is life ? what is real need for human? etc etc,,,,

The movie is hardly 2 hours,,, no kind of normal usual stuff like punch dialogues,stunts etc can be noticed in this movie.Hero is new face,, i am not sure of his name,, but our ravi krishna acted as a theif and stole the entire show. Its a good come back for ravi krishna after few disaster movies,,,heroine kamalini mukerji have done her part well.

Few songs have telegu smell,, but still its good to hear,,,and few comedy characters like kanja karupu, MS baskar comes for limited scenes but again they did well and especially MS baskar’s scene was too good.

The only drawback is that suddenly the movie becomes very sentimental but again ravi krishna is there to rescue it

Over all its a feel good movie which can be watched for this pongal. And people who are fed up after watching movies like villu and padikathavan should see this and make their heart to feel better

VILLU

First of all congrats Dr vijay for giving hat trick flop(ATM,Kuruvi,Villu). Villu of the one of the most expected movie of 2009. Its remake of the movie soldier which was released in bollywood 10 years back. As for as story line is concerned,, there is nothing new,,as usual father being killed so son comes and takes revenge. This is the story what we see in tamil cinema for the past 50 years.

MAJOR HIGHLIGHTS:

The intro scene of hero is so stupid,, vijay flying in air and landing in the ground after 30 seconds

Instead of imitating Rajni, for a change vijay imitated james bond.

vijay plays dual role it seems

son vijay is in normal pokiri get up

but the father vijay is shown as major saravanan,actors like surya vishal etc worked out in gym for more days and changed their get up and portrayed them self as commando or police officer, but this idiot viay just kept a mustatch and wore commando dress and walked in the itro scene like the surya did in vaaranam ayyiram,thank got vaaranam ayyiram got released long back.

still vijay didnt stop doing extra oridinary stunts, this time for a change he tried out james bond stunds like flying in air when the areoplane is in motion and killing the villain in air and landing on the boat using parachute.

I think prabudheva wanted his movie to be mass like pokiri and class like billa but the final output is not mass or class ,, its bull shit.

and we can see billa’s resembelance in many places. After seeing ajith in billa using glass and coat and specially that stylish walk, its a gr8 comedy to see vijay trying out all those. and to be more specific in one particular scene vijay wore a yellow coat,brown phant,black glass and walked like billa with similar type of back ground music. that scene is the highlight of villu

vadivelu’s comedy is the only relief for the movie but that too at times test our patience especially the comedy track between vadivelu and computer graphics generated bull is not necessary,, only god knows how much they spent for that scene.

nayanthara as usual used for bare skin show. no scope for her to act other than dancing in some 4 songs with costumes which doesnt even suit her. and make up was not proper,, face alone in one color and rest of the body is in another color

villain prakashraj and co doesnt have any powerful role, they are so called villain’s walking here and there speaking punch dialoges

first half was ok and its normal vijay flim,, but second half is really bad and even fans coundnt sit inside the theatre,, it was like seeing documentry movie which is about patriotism

last  15 mins fight was very long and notihg was impressive in climax

like in billa they used USB device to save the details of villains,, for a change in villu they used blue ray disc which can be read only using a particular eye glass, prabudeva iku manasula vijay a vachu hollywood movie direct panurom nu ninapu

the screenplay was totally iritating,,, and confusing here and there,, i never expected this from prabudeva

atleast songs will be good invijay movies but for the first time i saw people walking out of the theatre during the songs,,songs were not good and it had lot of telegu flavour

i dont know what for kusbhoo danced with vijay in the intro song and spoiled her own image,, it was like brother and sister dancing together.

Ravi varman did a good job as usual but whats the use when the rest of the team failed to perfom????

Expected No Of Days Of Successful Run: 125 days,,, as usual they will make it run in devi theatre and celebrate it by arranging a grand function and live telecast it in some channel,, idhu ellam oru polapa vijay?????

My ratings: 20/100 ( 10 for ravi varman and 10 for vadivelu)

verdict: flop

As i said early vijay have to better quit acting or else think something out of the box and come up with different type movie which has scope to act..he should stop thinking that his fans will accept what ever he does,there is limit for everything,,if he continues to do same type of movies again and again then people will never go for vijay movies.  audience are not so stupid to spend money to watch these kind of movies. All the best for your next venture and dont give one more hat trick flops:-)

Big heros like ajith, vijay,rajnikanth, vikram etc didnt manage to give a single hit in 2008, and more over if u have a look at top 10 movies of 2008, u can observe that all the movies are medium budget movies and importance is given to stories and not on hero’s image etc. Finally 2008 was a gr8 year for many new faces.let 2008 be a as lesson for ppl who think that big hero’s and big technicians alone is enough to make the movie hit. Lets hope for the best in 2009.
